Alain Jacquon is a French pianist, conductor and teacher whose international career has taken him to more than thirty countries.

A graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he was awarded eight Premiers Prix, he is a laureate of several major international piano competitions, including the Marguerite Long–Jacques Thibaud Competition, the UNISA International Piano Competition in South Africa, the Viotti Competition and the Pozzoli Competition, and was a finalist at the Busoni Competition.

Alongside his performing career, Alain Jacquon has devoted a significant part of his work to music education. He has directed several leading French conservatoires, including those of Boulogne-Billancourt, Montpellier and Lyon, and has given masterclasses in Europe, Asia and the United States. Many of his former students have gone on to establish professional careers in music and the performing arts. His interest in evolving approaches to music education also extends to digital learning, and he currently works as a piano expert for Metronaut, an interactive music practice app.

His discography focuses particularly on lesser-known French repertoire from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. These recordings have received major distinctions, including the Grand Prix du Disque de l’Académie Charles Cros, two Diapasons d’Or and a Choc du Monde de la Musique.

As a pianist, he has performed internationally and was for many years a member of the “Family of Artists” of the Newport Music Festival in the United States. He also performs with pianist Alexandra Roshchina as Duo Hands. He has served on numerous international competition juries, including the Marguerite Long–Jacques Thibaud International Competition in Paris, for which he was awarded the Médaille de Vermeil de la Ville de Paris in 2001.

Alain Jacquon is the founder of the Académie Internationale de Musique de Paris.
